What are Grout Lines?

Here are three categories of grout to choose from:
Sanded grout: is ideal for large grout joints – mostly used on large outdoor tiled areas such as balconies – except for marble which sanded grout will scratch.
Unsanded grout: is ideal for smaller grout joints.
Epoxy grout; is ideal for shower floors, bathroom floors, kitchen floors and splashbacks.

Why Does My Grout Have A Whitish Haze-Like Residue On It That I Can’t Get Off?
A:

A whitish residue on grout is typically caused by efflorescence. Efflorescence is the result of soluble salts or minerals that dissolve in water and come to the surface during evaporation. Efflorescence can come from moisture coming up through the cement slab or from the mortar itself.

Efflorescence can also occur when the water used to mix grout has a high mineral content.

We advise to allow 24 hours after the re-grouting is completed before a shower is used to ensure the new grout has had sufficient time to seal and dry properly.

With the correct cleaning practices and keeping your shower and bathroom ventilated, this will increase the longevity of our grout service.

How long will the service take?
A:

A standard shower repair can take between 3-4 hours to complete. A balcony repair can take anywhere from 1 day to 1 week, depending on the size of the balcony.

How much noise and mess will there be?
A:

There is minimal noise and mess. Our technicians vacuum and wipe any mess before leaving. Disruption is minimal and your shower can be used after 24 hours drying time.

Can you choose the colour of the grout/silicone?

Prior to starting any work, our technicians will discuss grout and silicone colour options with you. You can choose from a selection of colours depending on the product.

What time can you start?
A:

We will always strive to have a technician come to your home at a time convenient for you. Our technicians first job of the day starts at 7am. At this early time, I’m sure the technician will accept your offer to make him a cuppa 🙂

We do repairs on Saturdays and Public Holidays... at no extra cost!

Depending on availability of a technician in your area we can do repairs on Saturdays and Public Holidays. And if you ask nicely, we may even be able to come out on a Sunday!

Is this a permanent fix?

When a shower is leaking, new waterproofing and re-tiling is the most effective way to guarantee no more leaks, as there could be larger underlying issues that we can’t diagnose. Our service is a re-grout service which is used to refresh and improve the integrity of the grout on the tile surface, and in most cases is an effective alternative.

We offer full workmanship & product application warranty on all our services. Warranty periods are between 2-7 years.
